Her smile and sparkling eyes tell a wonderful story of a fresh start and new beginnings. Iris has just received shoes, her school outfits, playwear and Sunday dress clothes from our Commissary. She is so proud to model her attire for her new cottage family. With a refurbished wardrobe and backpack in hand, Iris is ready to be a part of her new school. She just needs to wait for tomorrow because it is late afternoon and the school bus has just dropped off the other children for the day.

This is one example of how a set of clothing and shoes can energize a child. By giving to Clothing for Kids, our children will have enthusiasm about their appearance at school, play and at church. We all enjoy looking our best from time to time. Just imagine seeing the face of a child light up after receiving a new pair of running shoes and a sporty pair of jeans to play in.

How Can I Help?

• Organize a Clothing for Kids drive in your church, organization or in your community to provide new or gently used clothes for kids.

• Provide a gift specifically for the Clothing for Kids drive.

• Provide a financial gift to be used where there is the greatest need.

• Pray for the ministry of South Texas Children's Home.
