Support work around the world through financial aid.
Sponsor a child in the Dominican Republic.

South Texas Children’s Home Ministries is working to magnify God’s love in our world by bringing cultures together through its International Ministries program.

Whenever people visit the campuses of South Texas Children’s Home Ministries (STCHM), they are touched by the warm, loving, consistent care that has been changing lives for more than half a century. Sharing this love with the needy and hurting in other countries is a natural outgrowth of STCHM’s longtime commitment to caring for and strengthening children and families in our own area.

As Americans reach out to make a difference in the lives of those in need around the world, they often find that their own lives are touched and transformed as deeply as those they had sought to help. South Texas Children’s Home Ministries is committed to helping families and adult groups experience the blessings that come from giving and serving abroad to touch the world with Christ’s love.

Opportunities to partner internationally with STCHM include:

  • Going on a STCHM-sponsored mission trip to provide services and assistance in a variety of areas, such as:

    Medical or dental clinics

Orphanage visits and home visits with internationally sponsored children

Vacation Bible Schools and other children's ministry activities

Light construction and repair/maintenance to support orphanages and schools

Workshops on parenting, nutrition or teacher training at Christian schools

  • Sponsoring an international child through the Samuel’s Fund Project.

  • Providing funds for mission trip expenses and projects, such as needs in the orphanages we serve, school supplies and medicine.

  • Donating children’s vitamins to give children hope for a better life.

  • Giving toward the cost of construction materials for:

Chapels in areas where the influence of Christ is greatly needed

Facility improvements at orphanages and schools for needy students

  • Giving toward humanitarian aid in countries experiencing devastating circumstances.

Much of our international ministry work takes place in the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic area. Joanna Berry, Vice President – Family Counseling and International Childcare, grew up in the Dominican Republic, is fluent in Spanish, and has a deep love and understanding of the Dominican people and their culture. STCHM also partners with established churches and ministries within the Dominican Republic to ensure that local Christians continue to minister to those reached by STCHM’s short-term mission efforts.

Please read about all of our international opportunities on the web pages devoted to each type of ministry. And contact us about ways you can get involved!
