Samuel’s Fund International Child Sponsorship Program
Since 1952 South Texas Children’s Home Ministries (STCHM)
has been providing for the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual
needs of children in the South Texas area who have been neglected or
abused. Every moment of every day in the Dominican Republic, and
throughout the world, neglected children live and die without the hope
of a better life. STCHM is now reaching beyond our borders to provide
needed resources to Dominican children through the Samuel’s Fund
Project, a sponsorship program that matches sponsors with children
the sponsors select from a group of available children.
For only $30 a month, you can bring hope and specific help to a
child who desperately needs it. With the resources a sponsor provides,
orphans and at-risk children can develop into independent young adults
who can impact their culture for Christ.
Every sponsorship dollar
given goes directly to meet the needs of the sponsored child.
Your monthly sponsorship will benefit the child you select in the
following ways:
-
Education - Help provide the uniforms, books and
supplies required for public school attendance.
-
Physical needs such as food, clothing and medicine.
-
The opportunity to attend camps and Christian
programs.
- Spiritual guidance through a local Christian church or
agency committed to the nurture and development of children in their
community.
Dominican school teacher and faithful Christian Rebeca Dinzey administers Samuel’s Fund contributions and lovingly follows each child’s progress. Sponsorship gifts can be made monthly, quarterly or annually. Contributions toward administrative costs which make the Samuel’s Fund Project possible are also greatly appreciated. To make your tax deductible contributions online with a credit card through our website, click here. Be sure to designate whether your gift is for sponsoring a Samuel’s Fund child or for helping with Samuel’s Fund administration.

Frequently Asked Questions
about sponsoring a child through the Samuel’s Fund Project:
How do I select a child?
To select a child, click on the photo at the right.
The names, photos and information on available children will appear.
You may select a child from this group and contact
Jill Roberson (361-375-2101, ext. 241)
to begin your sponsorship. Or, you may contact Jill and let her know
your preference of the age and gender of the child you wish to
sponsor. STCHM will work to match you with a child that meets your
desired specifications, when possible.
How long am I committed to sponsor a child?
We hope that you will continue to sponsor the child
for the entire time he or she is in the Samuel’s Fund Project, which
is usually until the child reaches the age of 18. If you are unable to
continue, South Texas Children’s Home Ministries will immediately seek
a new sponsor for your child.
In the event that a sponsored child’s situation changes and the child
becomes ineligible for Samuel’s Fund sponsorship, you will be notified
and given the opportunity to support another child in need.
