Yoerlin
Yoerlin is ten years old. He is from Hatillo and attends third grade at Rosa Elena School, a Christian school for the very poor. His favorite subjects are reading and math. His favorite color is blue, and his favorite foods are pizza, rice and beans. He enjoys reading and playing with blocks. Yoerlin lives with his grandmother because both his mom and dad left him behind. He works to be helpful to his grandmother around the house.
About Sponsoring Yoerlin
For more information about becoming a Samuel’s Fund Sponsor, please complete the form below. Our Sponsorship Coordinator will contact you to answer any questions you may have, or help you find a child that best meets your criteria for sponsorship. If you are interested in a specific age or gender, please contact our office directly and we will help match you with a child.
As a Samuel’s Fund Sponsor, you will receive an information packet with a photo and basic information about your child’s life. You will also receive a yearly report on your sponsored child’s activities, their physical and spiritual growth, and their educational progress.
Communication You are invited to write to your child and build a supportive relationship with him or her. All letters should be sent to our home office where they will be forwarded to our Dominican staff to be translated and delivered with the original to your child. Responses from your child will be translated and forwarded with the original to you as well.
Opportunity to Visit Visiting your child can be a lasting memory and a rich blessing for you and your child. Contact Yesenia Daniel (ydaniel@stchm.org) to assist you in making these arrangements, which could include traveling to the Dominican Republic with various STCHM mission team groups that travel there for week-long mission trips throughout the year.
Donations Sponsorship gifts can be made monthly, quarterly or annually. Contributions toward Samuel’s Fund projects such as schools and orphanages are also greatly appreciated. What Children Receive
Your monthly $30 sponsorship will benefit your Samuel’s Fund child in the following ways:
- Physical needs such as food, clothing and medicine.
- Educational needs such as the school uniforms, books and supplies; special tutorial assistance; and opportunities for enrichment.
- Spiritual guidance through a local Christian church or agency committed to the nurture and development of children in their community.
- Comfortable, loving home for children in residential care.
- The opportunity to attend camps and Christian programs.
What Sponsors Receive
As a Samuel’s Fund Child Sponsor, you will receive:
- An information packet with a photo and basic information about your child’s life.
- Occasional correspondence from your sponsored child and the opportunity to correspond with them.
- A yearly report on your sponsored child’s progress in their education, their activities, and their spiritual and physical growth.
- The opportunity to visit your sponsored child in the Dominican Republic and assistance with arranging the visit.
