South Texas Children’s Home Ministries (STCH Ministries) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that has been caring for children and families since 1952.

We provide:
- Homes for Children who need care while their family is in crisis
- Homes for Families for single moms and their children
- Family Counseling services for individuals, couples, and families sorting through the challenges of life
- International reaching children and families through international missions
- Faith & Work to enhance job skills and spiritual growth
- Faith & Finances to teach biblical principles of money management
- Pastor Care to serve those who are always serving others
- Family Support to connect needs of families with resources
- Ministry Consulting to share expertise and resources with other ministries

Our Vision
To show the love of Christ to each and every child and family we minister to each day. We do this by creating a culture where the needs of families are seen and met in creative and innovative ways. Efficiency and accountability are strategic priorities with effectiveness and excellence the resulting evidence. We desire God to use STCH Ministries in mighty ways to do His work.

Our Core Values
EXCELLENCE – Whether providing a safe home for a child in need, counseling a couple, assisting single moms, leading a mission team, or working behind the scenes in the business office, we desire to do all that we do in love and with excellence.

ACCOUNTABILITY – To serve others to the best of our ability, we will hold one another accountable by setting program and employee specific goals and working together in a spirit of unity.

INTEGRITY – Trust is the key to any relationship and we will build this trust each day by choosing to walk in truth, understanding and wisdom.

- Ensure that all children in our care will be provided a safe haven of love and refuge and the opportunities to realize the fulfillment of their hopes and dreams.
- Ensure that the ministry provided to families and individuals is Christ-based and of the highest professional standard.
- Ensure that every child and adult reached by this ministry will hear the good news of Jesus Christ as Savior.
- Nurture and grow our children spiritually to have an active, deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Seek as individuals to have a personal, active, deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Wisely use the financial gifts we receive; this will include remaining debt free.
- Remain completely funded by charitable gifts and not take state or federal funds.

Qualifications for Employment
In keeping with the mission statement and core values of STCH Ministries, it is imperative that employees have certain qualifications. In relation to those qualifications, it is important that all employees have a close walk with God and that they have a desire to see children and families grow in the knowledge of the Lord and develop a close relationship with Him.

General Qualifications

An employee of STCH Ministries will have a conviction that people have the capacity to grow and change. The employee will enjoy learning new things and take pride and ownership in his/her work. They will have an ability to work both independently and in partnership with other members in a team approach. They will possess sensitivity to the cultural differences that are present among the organization’s service population and staff. And the employee will meet all of the employment qualifications as outlined in the job description for the position for which they are applying.

Spiritual Qualifications

An employee of STCH Ministries will have had a personal conversion experience with Jesus Christ. They will have a sense of commitment to the ministry of service to children, adults and families. The employee will possess a sincere desire to seek God and His kingdom and demonstrate personal and devotional habits and practices such as Bible study, prayer and daily meditation. The employee is an active member of a local Evangelical Christian church, attends regularly, and engages in witness activities as a normal part of life. The employee will accept the STCH Ministries Faith and Message statement.

Educational Qualifications

There are educational and experience qualifications that are outlined in the job descriptions and program manuals specific to each position.
