South Texas Children’s Home Ministries (STCH Ministries) is a faith-based, nonprofit organization that has been caring for children and families since 1952.

We do this by creating a culture where the needs of families are seen and met in creative and innovative ways. Our Core Values EXCELLENCE – Whether providing a safe home for a child in need, counseling a couple, assisting single moms, leading a mission team, or working behind the scenes in the business office, we desire to do all that we do in love and with excellence.

In keeping with the mission statement and core values of STCH Ministries, it is imperative that employees have certain qualifications. In relation to those qualifications, it is important that all employees have a close walk with God and that they have a desire to see children and families grow in the knowledge of the Lord and develop a close relationship with Him.
General Qualifications
An employee of STCH Ministries will have a conviction that people have the capacity to grow and change. The employee will enjoy learning new things and take pride and ownership in his/her work. They will have an ability to work both independently and in partnership with other members in a team approach. They will possess sensitivity to the cultural differences that are present among the organization’s service population and staff. And the employee will meet all of the employment qualifications as outlined in the job description for the position for which they are applying.
Spiritual Qualifications
An employee of STCH Ministries will have had a personal conversion experience with Jesus Christ. They will have a sense of commitment to the ministry of service to children, adults and families. The employee will possess a sincere desire to seek God and His kingdom and demonstrate personal and devotional habits and practices such as Bible study, prayer and daily meditation. The employee is an active member of a local Evangelical Christian church, attends regularly, and engages in witness activities as a normal part of life. The employee will accept the STCH Ministries Faith and Message statement.
