Having grown up in the Rio Grande Valley where her family has lived for five generations, Morgan Parker is so thankful for the opportunity to serve as a Director of Development in the RGV. Morgan considers the Valley her home, loves the people of the RGV, believes that God is doing something important in this region and looks forward to sharing STCH Ministries’ mission with the deep south Texas community.
Morgan earned a Bachelor and Master of Business Administration from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Her time in the Coastal Bend studying management was invaluable, helping her grow as a leader while strengthening her interpersonal and communication skills. After college and graduate school, Morgan worked in sales, selling insurance for Texas Farm Bureau. This time in the insurance business was a wonderful learning experience, allowing her to meet new people, travel to new places and discover the importance of wholistically caring for families’ well-being. Morgan approached every day of her job in insurance sales as a special ministry opportunity, enabling her to serve families through seasons of crisis and empower them to protect themselves from devastating financial loss.
Morgan has served in many churches over the years but has found her church home in FBC Weslaco where she has been a member for nearly 16 years. There, she volunteers with the youth, leads a college and career ministry, and sings in the choir. FBC Weslaco’s motto is “to know Him and make Him known”, and Morgan hopes to live out this calling through her role with STCH Ministries, finding ways to partner with churches like hers and serve the families of the RGV she loves so much. In her free time, Morgan enjoys sneaking off to South Padre Island to celebrate God’s majesty looking out at the vastness of the ocean, while feeling the sand between her toes.
