From its earliest days, the leadership of STCH Ministries, originally known as South Texas Children’s Home, committed to accepting no government funding and incurring no debt. Cottages were built to provide children from throughout South Texas with a home filled with love, compassion and care.

Under the leadership of Dr. A. J. “Jack” Green Jr., the organization’s second CEO, Homes for Children flourished, as did the children entrusted to its care. A second campus opened in Goliad, followed by a campus in Yoakum, Texas, serving mothers and children. Counseling Ministries began in Corpus Christi in 1995 to help preserve, restore and strengthen families. Over the years, Counseling Ministries expanded into additional communities as STCH Ministries continued to grow.

In 2006, International Ministries launched in the Dominican Republic. Today, International Ministries serves children and families in the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Belize. Community Ministries began in Corpus Christi in 2008 and has since expanded into five regions, extending STCH Ministries’ reach to individuals and families in communities across Texas.

Today, our four ministry areas include:

• Campus Ministries – providing safe, Christ-centered homes where children and families can live as they find healing and transformation.
• Community Ministries – helping connect individuals with community resources and educational services.
• Counseling Ministries – providing care when individuals, couples and families need help sorting through life’s challenges.
• International Ministries – taking our mission overseas by partnering with established local churches and organizations that serve children and families.

Many children and families continue to be impacted by the love of God shown to them by devoted staff, houseparents, caseworkers, counselors, sponsors and the many others who have joined with STCH Ministries to make a difference in the lives of others.
