Dear Friends,

Like you, we have been watching how the COVID-19 pandemic has created uncertain times. We are waiting with faithful hope in the One we know and trust – our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We want to remind you of the good that continues to remain as God is Good, and as supporters – YOU are a part of the family.  At STCH Ministries, we are continuing to carry out our mission of healing hearts and sharing hope.

THE GOOD NEWS IN OUR MINISTRY
We are continuing to help those who we serve as they deal with life challenges. These challenges can be magnified when it’s under circumstances such as these. Stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness and many other emotions can be further triggered when something such as being quarantined and social distancing is a new way of life.
Therefore, STCH Ministries has implemented new ways to continue God’s work in lives throughout our ministries.

Family Counseling expanded additional opportunities for distance/virtual counseling to reach more clients. Clients have mentioned they are, “SO EXCITED and encouraged by the option to do distance counseling. They appreciate some type of consistency and normalcy with still being able to meet amidst the chaos and uncertainty.” Though distance may cause loneliness, we’re able to use technology to bring people together and provide encouragement.

Our International staff recently purchased essential food items for 25 families in need. The shutdowns in the Dominican Republic led to a hunger crisis. Day laborers are not able to provide for their families. One father thanked us and said, “We prayed much and are so grateful for this food delivery. This is a difficult crisis. BUT GOD moved your heart to help us.”  We are identifying another 25 families and will begin the delivery of more food in a few days.

At Homes for Children, our students are out of school and learning the meaning of social distancing. Each cottage is adapting to increased interaction amongst each other by creating an environment to develop and build closer relationships. Children are taking turns cooking dinner, planning movie nights, selecting game nights, leading devotionals, and homeschooling is scheduled more intentionally. Cottages are learning to be kinder, gentler and more compassionate with each other as emotions can be tense.

At Homes for Families, we are working to keep schedules as normal as possible for the moms as they continue to focus on their healing and restoration. Our Activities Coordinator continues to work with their children by keeping them focused on school work and engaged with fun and creative activities. Our staff has never been more ready to handle a crisis than we are now.

These are just a few examples of ways we are working diligently to keep a sense of normalcy during these uncertain times. Continue to be a Partner. We are grateful for your support, as you help keep our ministries possible.

At this time, though we all face challenges, we need a few things in order to keep our ministries fully functioning. If you are looking for ways to serve, you can help stock the COMMISSARY for both campuses. This is a great way to help replenish the supplies which our children, houseparents and single moms are using while adjusting to the stay-home request.

We’ve made it easy! We have two (2) Amazon Shopping List accounts where you can select item(s) you’d like to purchase and deliver directly to the campus of your choice.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10
